…escaped from the Hawai’i State Hospital

Big Island police want to alert the public that the Honolulu Police Department is searching for a Big Island man who escaped from the Hawai’i State Hospital.

Alexander Aehegma was attending a group meeting in Kaneohe on Sunday (March 21) and was allowed to go the restroom around 8:20 p.m. He failed to return to the meeting and has not been seen since.

Aehegma previously lived in Keauhou. Honolulu police believe he may return to the Big Island.

He is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with red hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing long pants, a tan shirt with a collar, and athletic shoes.
