Media Release

The Hawai’i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man in connection with an abuse reported in Puna on January 20. According to the victim, the man entered a home, assaulted the victim and stole her purse.

Police are seeking 22-year-old Matthew Aaron Miller. Miller is described as 5-foot-6, 145 pounds with a medium build, blond hair and blue eyes.

Miller is also wanted in connection with theft and identity theft investigations and has a $50,000 outstanding warrant for revocation of probation.

Police ask that anyone knowing Miller’s whereabouts call Detective John Ancheta at 961-2276 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
