MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii County Police Department’s Traffic Services Section and the Hawaii Isle Police Activities League are signing up teams for a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to be played in West Hawaii.

The HI-PAL “Click It or Ticket” 3-on-3 West Hawaii Basketball Tournament is scheduled for April 23 and 24, 2005, at the Kailua-Kona Gymnasium.

Entries are being accepted in the following divisions: 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, High School (coed), 12 & Under Girls, 14 & Under Girls and High School Girls.

“The tournaments are scheduled in conjunction with the national ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign and are a means of educating our youth to use their seat belts to reduce injuries and save lives,” said Officer Randy Morris of the West Hawaii HI-PAL.

Interested teams should call Officer Morris at the West Hawaii HI-PAL office at 326-4646, Ext. 258.

Because of limited space available, teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadlines for entry are April 15, 2004.
