Woman’s Body Found in Hilo 10-06-00

MEDIA RELEASE

The body of a woman was discovered Friday (October 6, 2000) near the Wailoa State Park in Hilo.

Responding to a 10:40 a.m. call, police found the body lying in some bushes makai of the intersection of Pillani and Mililani Streets.

Officers have identified the woman through fingerprints as Carol Jean Cerreira, 47, of no permanent address.

The cause of death could not be immediately determined, and police have ordered an autopsy, to be conducted on Tuesday.

The case has been classified at a coroner’s request.
