Hawaiʻi Island police have arrested one person and are seeking another in connection with a theft last summer at a big box store in Hilo.

On August 2, 2014, a man and a woman removed jewelry valued at $10,741 from a store on Makaʻala Street.

Police investigation led to the identity of the woman as 50-year-old Regina Stephens of Hilo. She was arrested Wednesday (February 18) and taken to the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation.

At 9:30 a.m. Thursday, she was charged with second-degree theft. Her bail was set at $2,000.

Police are looking for 41-year-old Paul K. Stevens of Hilo in connection with this case. He is described as 5-foot-8, 175 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He is also wanted on a bench warrant for violating terms of supervised release while awaiting trial on theft, forgery and ID theft charges.
