Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 24-year-old woman wanted for questioning in a first-degree terroristic threatening investigation.
In response to a 9:17 p.m. call Sunday (March 13), Kona Patrol officers learned that two persons had reportedly driven to the scenic lookout off Kamehameha III Road in Keauhou in a gray or silver van. A woman exited the van and reportedly pointed what was described as a black handgun at a 17-year-old girl who was accompanied by another 17-year-old girl a 16-year-old boy. A second suspect, whose face was concealed, was holding what was described as a rifle and spoke in what sounded like a male voice, before the suspects fled without further incident.
Police investigation led the identity of the woman as 24-year-old Randi-Keli Banagan of Captain Cook. She is described as 5-foot-4, 140 pounds with brown eyes, short black hair and numerous tattoos on her neck and arms.
