The Hawai’i Police Department is reminding the public that it is illegal and dangerous to discharge firearms, crossbows, bows and arrows, BB guns or pellet guns in residential areas.

A Hilo family reported that on April 2 and April 4, arrows landed in their Waiakea Uka yard while children were outside playing. Police have initiated a felony reckless endangering case in connection with the incidents.
