On Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 0215 A.M., Kona Patrol units responded to a reported affray at Denny’s Restaurant in Kailua-Kona.

Upon arrival at the restaurant police made contact with a 42 year old male victim who was bleeding from the left side of his head. The victim said that he had a verbal altercation with an Afro-American male inside the restaurant; during the altercation the victim was struck on the left side of the head by the suspect. The victim thought he had been punched until he started bleeding profusely. Witnesses at the scene said the suspect had taken a knife from his pocket and jabbed the victim in the head. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the Kona Hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspect was described as an Afro-American male, 6’0″ tall, 190-210 lbs., shaved head, mustache, with an athletic build.
