Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for the theft of two saddles in Honokaʻa.
The brown Hawaiian Tree saddles were removed from a home on Kapuna Road sometime between March 1 and June 7.
One is described as a brown 15-inch Hawaiian Tree saddle with a maile lei design on top of the fenders and the name “KLOWEE” stitched on the leather strip of the back seat area. The other is described as a brown 15 1/2-inch Hawaiian Tree saddle with the name “KAWAMOTO” stitched into a covered area under the seat.
Police ask that anyone with any information about this case call Detective Derek Morimoto [corrected name] at 961-2380 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
