Kona police report that a portion of Alii Drive that was shut down for more than an hour has been reopened.

Officers had shut down Alii Drive from the Kailua Pier to the Hualalai Road intersection Monday (August 16, 2004) because of a possible propane gas leak reported at 9:30 a.m. fronting Basil’s Restaurant in the Kim Chong Building.

Police said the Fire Department resolved the gas leak.
