MEDIA RELEASE

Kapiolani Street in Hilo will have one-way traffic during certain hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for the safety of church-goers.

One-way traffic will flow in the south, or Puna, direction on Kapiolani Street between Waianuenue Avenue and Ponahawai Street. The one-way pattern will be in effect only during the following hours:

  • From 3 p.m. Friday, December 24, to 2 a.m. Saturday, December 25, 1999.
  • From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 25, 1999.

At all other times, traffic will flow in the normal two-way pattern.
