Kona Marijuana Sweep 12/17/99

Big Island police seized a total of 113 marijuana plants ranging in height from seedlings to three feet during the past four days as part of its continuing “Counter-Cannabis Field Operation.”

The marijuana eradication operation was conducted Monday (December 13, 1999) through Thursday in an area extending from Kaloko in North Kona through Honaunau in South Kona.

Joining Kona police officers in the marijuana eradication enforcement effort were personnel from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Hawaii Air National Guard and Department of Land and Natural Resources.

There were no arrests made, nor were there any unusual incidents reported during the operation.
