Hawaiʻi Island police have released the suspect who was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery at the Hāmākua Coast Community Federal Credit Union in Pepeʻekeo.

After conferring with prosecutors, detectives released 37-year-old Kris R. Villasista of Honomū at 11:20 a.m. Saturday (June 1) pending further investigation.

Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation.
