…arrested for failing to surrender for federal sentencing

Media Release

The Hawaii Police Department has located 56-year-old Thomas James Crowe, who was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Police asked for help in locating the Kona man on Tuesday (December 4) and received a tip from the public. Based on the tip, a patrol officer made checks in a Kona hotel parking lot and located Crowe sleeping in a car. Part of his body was hidden in the trunk. He was arrested without incident at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (December 5).

Police turned Crowe over to the U.S. Marshals Service Thursday (December 6) at 2:15 p.m.

He had been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography. A federal warrant was issued for his arrest on November 20 for failure to surrender for sentencing and violating terms of supervised release.
