MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

East Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section detectives have taken over the case of a 71-year-old Puna man who was reportedly last seen on March 18, 2004.

The man was identified as Hank Roberts Sr., of a Kalapana address. Roberts is described as a Caucasian male, being 5-foot-8 in height, weighing about 160 pounds and having gray hair and blue eyes. He is also described as usually frequenting the Pahoa Village area.

Roberts was last seen near his Kalapana home.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Uwao Chartrand of the East Hawaii CIS or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property. Crime Stoppers neither subscribes to “Caller ID,” nor does it record phone calls.
