A total of 31 teams — 13 from West Hawaii and 18 from East Hawaii — took part in this islandwide event.

The intent of the league is to promote goodwill, fellowship and clean and healthy competition. Teams are formed from public and private intermediate schools and play against teams from other intermediate schools.
