The Hawaii Isle Police Activities League is signing up teams for its HI-PAL Summer Basketball League for East Hawaii.

The league is open to anyone eligible to play in the 11 & 12 and 13 & 14 Divisions. Players may participate in only one division.

Each division will have a limited number of teams, and the deadline to register will be Friday, July 2, 2004. League games will be played July 12-August 21, 2004.

A mandatory coaches meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the Papaikou Community Center next to the gym. The topics to be discussed include league format, rules and regulations and the starting date.

The league is open to boys and girls who reach the ages of 11 through 14 by December 31, 2004. Players who have played for their high school teams will be ineligible.

Teams interested in playing should call the HI-PAL office at 961-2219 or 961-2220 as soon as possible.
