MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Thanks to an anonymous tip, police Saturday (May 1, 1999) apprehended a man who had escaped from the Hale Nani minimum security facility the night before.

At 8:10 a.m., police arrested Troy A. Samson, 28, at a Keaa Street address. Samson was arrested for escape and taken to the Hawaii Community Correctional Center.

Samson had been discovered missing from the Hale Nani facility about 9 p.m. Friday, and police had asked the public for its help in apprehending the fugitive.

Samson was being held for revocation of probation and contempt of court for nonviolent crimes.
