Big Island police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing from her Hilo residence since February 2, 2000.

The missing girl is Renee N. Katada. Katada is described as being Hawaiian-Chinese, being 5 feet in height, weighing about 100 pounds with a medium build and having waist-length, straight “ehu”-colored, reddish brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call Officer Ann Mejia of the Juvenile Aid Section at (808) 961-8810 or the police emergency number at (808) 935-3311. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 in Hilo or (808) 329-8181 in Kona.
