Big Island Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies in a residence in Hilo.

At about 11:30 am on Wednesday (December 8, 2010), South Hilo patrol officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Kilauea Avenue in Hilo to a report of an unresponsive male.   Responding officers discovered the male in the lower portion of the residence.

While police were investigating the initial report, officers discovered another body of a female in another portion of the residence.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the Hilo Medical Center.

Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation into both deaths and have classified the deaths as Coroner’s Inquests.  Detectives do not believe foul play is involved; however the investigation remains continuing pending autopsies to determine the exact causes of death.
