A vacant two-story house was destroyed by fire Sunday night (May 23, 1999) in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, Ka’u.

Responding to a 7:25 p.m. call, Ka’u police and fire and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates Volunteer Fire Department personnel arrived at an Orchid Parkway address to find the wooden dwelling engulfed in flames.

Damage to the structure and its contents was estimated at about $20,000, according to a representative of the owners, the Terry Jones estate.

No injuries were reported in the fire, and the cause of the blaze has not yet been determined. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
