Kona Death Caused by Heart Attack 02/15/00

MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

The local male who was found floating face down in waters off Keei Beach in South Kona on Monday (February 14, 2000) has been identified as Jonathan Andrade, 36, of Keei.

The results of the autopsy conducted Tuesday indicate that the victim died of a heart attack. There were no signs of foul play involved in the death.

Responding to a 2 p.m. call Monday, Kona officers learned that bystanders had found the victim floating face down, pulled him out of the water and summoned fire rescue.

Fire rescue personnel administered CPR and transported the victim to the Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:58 p.m.
