MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii Police Department has cancelled a three-month trial period for registering firearms by appointment only at the Kealakehe police station.

Firearms may be registered without appointment, as was the policy before the proposed new procedure was announced on July 25, 2006.

Firearms registration hours are between >1:30 p.m.> and >3:30 p.m.> on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and between >12:00 p.m.> and >2:00 p.m.> on Tuesdays and Thursdays, excluding holidays.
