MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii County Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person.

On December 9, 2000, at about 12 p.m., Kona Patrol Officers responded to a report of a missing person at the Kona Coast Resort, Keauhou, Hawaii. Officers learned that Eleanor Trillhaase, a 69 year old female from Idaho Falls, Idaho, had wandered off from her condominium at around 9 a.m. and she had not returned. According to Mr. Trillhase, his wife suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Eleanor is described as being Caucasian, about 5-feet-7 inches in height, weighing about 120 pounds, with gray hair, hazel colored eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan colored top and gray pants. A search of the surrounding areas where the victim was last reported have been unsuccessful.
