Big >Island> police are looking for several men who robbed a visitor Thursday (August 10, 2006) in a restaurant parking lot on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona.

Responding to an >11:00 p.m.> call, Kona patrol officers determined that one man struck the victim on the head, knocking him to the ground. While on the ground, several other men joined in kicking the victim and took his money.

Fire/rescue personnel took the >Oahu >visitor to the Kona Community Hospital emergency room for treatment of his injuries.  He was later released.

The suspect initiating the attack was described as about 5-foot-10, between 150 and 160 pounds with a medium build and brown hair worn in dreadlocks.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the robbery or who knows the identity of the robbers to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
