Man 29, apparently drowns in waters off Keauhou 06-26-05

A 29-year-old man apparently drowned Sunday (June 26, 2005) in waters off Keauhou in Kona.

The victim was identified as Kevin Ray Hunt, of Honalo. Hunt, was found unconscious in the water at the south end of Alii Drive.

Responding to a 6:22 p.m. call, Kona patrol officers arrived to find Fire/Rescue personnel attempting to revive the victim, who was later taken to the Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m.

The incident has been classified as a coroner’s inquest, and police have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
