Man who drowned identified 07-12-06

A 52-year old man who apparently drowned Saturday (July 8, 2006) in waters off Milolii, >South Kona, has been identified as Robert >>H>>enderson, >>52, of Milolii>.

Witnesses reported the man was swimming when he appeared to have difficulties. Several divers in the water nearby came to his aid, pulled him from the water and attempted to revive him.            

Responding to a >12:54 p.m.> call, Kona patrol officers arrived to find Fire/Rescue personnel attempting to revive the victim. He was taken to >>Kona> >Community> >Hospital>>,where he was pronounced dead at >4:28 p.m.>

The incident has been classified as a coroner’s inquest. Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
