MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 69-year-old Hilo man.

He is identified as Stephen Lamaka Pua, 69, of Kapiolani Street in Hilo. He is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-9, abut 145 pounds with brown eyes, long grey hair and a dark complexion.

He was last seen at an acquaintance’s house in the Kaumana area of Hilo during the early morning hours of April 12, 2007.

He has a medical condition that requires medication.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call Detective Robert Hatton of the Criminal Investigations Section at 961-2380 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
