MEDIA RELEASE

South Hilo Patrol Officer Joel Field has been named Officer of the Month for April for what his supervisor describes as “continuous outstanding performance and accomplishments.”

Field received the honor Thursday (June 15, 2006) during a ceremony at a luncheon meeting of the Aloha Exchange Club of Hilo.

According to Sergeant Darren Horio, Field demonstrates superior performance in his investigations and has natural leadership abilities both on police watches and in training new recruits.

Field has also been commended by Detective Richard Sherlock, who said he was impressed with the consistent and thorough effort Field has put into his investigations before routing them to the Criminal Investigations Section.

As Officer of the Month, Field is now eligible for Officer of the Year.
