Police to conduct traffic study in Kailua-Kona 03-17-04

In an ongoing effort to address traffic congestion in Kona, Big Island police will conduct a two-month traffic study at the intersection of Hina Lani Street and Palani Road (Route 190).

The study will begin on Monday, March 22, 2004, and last until May 10, 2004.

During that time period, police officers will be present at the intersection from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.

They will also assist vehicles making left turns at the intersection.

“We ask that the commuting public be on the lookout for police officers and use caution while going through the intersection,” said Deputy Police Chief Harry Kubojiri.
