MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Out of respect for the victims of Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., St. Joseph Church has postponed its annual parish picnic scheduled for Sunday (September 16, 2001).

It means that two-way traffic will continue as usual on Kapiolani Street on Sunday afternoon.

To accommodate the annual parish event, one-way traffic heading in the Puna, or south, direction had been scheduled between the hours of 1 and 5 p.m. between Waianuenue Avenue and Haili Street.

The parish will reschedule the event at a later date, church authorities said.
