On Thursday (February 17) detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigation Section charged a 40-year-old woman and her 28-year-old companion with various financial crimes.

On January 30, 2010 a Captain Cook man reported a residential burglary in which electronic equipment and credit cards were stolen. It was later learned that two female suspects used the victim’s credit cards to transact numerous unauthorized charges in the Kona, South Kohala, Hamakua, Hilo, and Puna areas. The suspects were identified by police and arrested on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

Tawnya-Lee Domingo of no permanent address was charged with 9 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, 9 counts of identity theft, 11 counts of theft, 2 counts of theft of a credit card, and 3 forgery cases. Her total bail was set at $298.000.

Also charged was Pualani Domingo, of no permanent address, who was charged for 5 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, 5 counts of identity theft, and 7 counts of theft. Her total bail is set at $172,000.

Both Domingo’s remain in police custody pending their initial court appearance on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
