MEDIA RELEASE

Police have arrested two Puna men for a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday.

At 11:22 a.m. Thursday (November 7, 2002), Puna patrol officers responded to a call from a Fern Forest man who said he had been shot in the ear.

On investigating the incident, police arrested two men, identified as Lunalilo Salas, 20, and Glenn Sickles, 47, both of Fern Forest.

The incident apparently stemmed a previous altercation that occurred on Halloween evening between Sickles, Salas and other suspects.

Sickles was released pending further investigation by Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives; Salas was charged with terroristic threatening and illegal place to keep a firearm.

Salas is being held in the Hilo police cellblock on $3,000 bail.
