Media Release

Big Island police are searching for a 16-year-old girl reported as missing from her Hilo home since May 18, 2007. She has been identified as Riva Alves. She is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-4, about 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information about her whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
