A Kona man has been charged with four offenses stemming from the break-in of a car in the parking lot of a “big-box” store in Kailua-Kona.
At 2:38 p.m. Tuesday (May 24), Kona Patrol officers responded to a report that a backpack had been stolen from a car parked in a parking lot on Henry Street.
Police located the suspect, 35-year-old Jason K. Lindsey of Kailua-Kona, nearby and arrested him at 3:45 p.m.
Lindsey was taken to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation.
At 10:10 a.m. Thursday (May 26), he was charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, theft, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $6,250.
He remains at the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Friday (May 27).
