Eight officers from the Hawaii Police Department have been promoted to the rank of sergeant/detective. They are:

• Allan K. Watanabe, sergeant, South Hilo Patrol
• Richard B. Toledo, sergeant, South Kohala Patrol
• James K. Correa, detective, Vice Section, Area I
• Paul M. Fukuda, detective, Criminal Investigations Section, Area I
• Alan M. Kimura, detective, Internal Affairs Unit
• BJ Duarte, detective, Criminal Investigations Section, Area I
• Walter K. Ah Mow III, detective, Criminal Investigations Section, Area II
• Marjorie-Ann L. Kahookele, detective, Vice Section, Area II

The promotions take effect on October 16.
