The victim was identified as Teresa Jarrett Jacober of Mountain View.

Responding to a 1:01 a.m. call, Puna patrol officers determined that the victim was operating a 1998 Ford 4-door sedan and traveling north on Route 11 when she lost control of her car, crossed the centerline, struck an embankment and overturned.

The victim was possibly ejected from her car and was then struck by a 1999 Mazda pickup truck traveling north.
