Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Puna woman reported missing since August 11, 2004.

The woman was identified as Francesca Obrien, 55, who was last seen at her Makamae Street residence in the Leilani Estates subdivision. Obrien is described as being a Caucasian, being 5-foot-5 in height, weighing about 200 pounds and having a fair complexion, brown hair and green eyes. She also wears prescription glasses.

Obrien was reported missing by her housekeeper, and a concerned family member living on the Big Island was unable to provide information on her whereabouts. Obrien’s vehicle and her personal belongings, including her medications, were found at her residence.

Fire Department personnel have assisted in both an aerial and ground search of the area surrounding her home, but have been unable to locate any sign of the missing person.

Anyone with information on Obrien’s whereabouts is asked to call Officer Garrett Hatada of the Puna Patrol at 966-5835 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
