Media Release

On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Hawaiʻi Police Department, assisted by Homeland Security, the Honolulu Police Department, and the Prosecutor’s Office Investigators, executed 9 search warrants at 7 establishments and 2 homes connected with illegal gambling operations. Five of the establishments were located in Hilo (Hualani Street, Kalanikoa Street, Kīlauea Avenue,  W. Lanikāula Street, and Manono Street). One establishment is located in Kamuela (Māmalahoa Highway), one establishment in Kona (Kaiwi Street), a home in Kona and a home in Honokaʻa (Wana Street, Kona, and Waipiʻo Road in Honokaʻa).

As a result of these search warrants, gambling devices/machines are being recovered, as well as gambling proceeds, records, and other evidence. Presently at this time, no arrests have been made.
