Hawaiʻi Island police are seeking witnesses to an assault and criminal property damage incident in Pepeʻekeo.

A 21-year-old Hilo woman reported that at approximately 3 a.m. Monday (March 21), she was traveling on Kumula Street in Pepeʻekeo when a car being operated by an unknown woman intentionally struck her car, almost causing her to lose control of the vehicle. The unknown woman then exited her sedan near the second entrance to the Kulaimano Housing Complex, where she struck the victim’s car several times, causing damage. The unknown woman then struck the victim on the head, causing pain and injury.

The unknown woman is described as Polynesian, about 5-foot-5, about 200 pounds with brown eyes and long brown hair. Her car was described as a light-colored Saturn two-door sedan.

Police ask anyone with any information about this case to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Officer Victor McLellan at 961-2213.
