Big Island detectives have charged a 47 year-old man and a 32 year-old woman for a variety of offenses stemming from a burglary that occurred last Saturday (April 02, 2016) in Puna.

After conferring with prosecutors, Jarrett Moke Hanato of Puna was charged with two counts of first degree burglary and his bail was set at $50,000.

Kimberly Anne Edwards, also of Puna was charged with two counts first degree burglary, one count each of third degree promotion of a dangerous drug, prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, and fraudulent use of a license plate.  Edwards’ bail was set at $30,250.

Both Hanato and Edwards are scheduled to make their initial court appearance this afternoon.

Last Saturday afternoon, a Puna homeowner reported to police that his Hawaiian Paradise Park residence was entered and several items were removed.  When he returned later in the evening, he observed a black Honda multi-purpose vehicle parked in his driveway and confronted a male and female on his property attempting to remove additional items.
