05-05-16 Temporary one-way traffic pattern on Mohouli Street starting May 9

A temporary one-way traffic pattern will be in effect along a portion of Mohouli Street from Monday, May 9, through Wednesday, May 25, weather permitting.

On those dates, traffic will flow only in the makai, or easterly, direction on Mohouli Street between Popolo Street and Kinoole Street between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Motorists traveling Puna bound on Kapi‘olani Street will be detoured onto Wailoa Street.

The temporary one-way traffic pattern, allowed under Hawai`i County Code (Section 24-10), will be in effect Monday through Friday to accommodate reconstruction work in conjunction with the Kapi‘olani Street Extension Reconstruction Project (County Job No. E-4039).

Mohouli Street will be restored to two-way traffic after 6 p.m. each workday.
