Media Release

A temporary one-way traffic pattern will be in effect along a portion of Lanikaula Street from Friday, May 27, through Wednesday, June 15, weather permitting.

Traffic will flow in the mauka, or westerly, direction only on Lanikaula Street, between Kinoʻole Street and Kalili Street between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The temporary one-way traffic pattern, allowed under Hawai`i County Code (Section 24-10), will be in effect on week days (Monday through Friday) to accommodate reconstruction work in conjunction with the Kapiʻolani Street Extension Reconstruction Project (County Job No. E-4039).

Lanikaula Street will be restored to two-way traffic after 7 p.m. each workday.

While work is being done on the Puna side lane, motorists will not be allowed access to Lanikaula Street from Kapiʻolani Street.
