Media Release (update No. 2)

Hawaiʻi Island police have obtained a new photo of a 48-year-old man who was reported missing last year.

Michael Kalla was last seen October 5 in Kalapana. His last known address was in Honokaʻa.

He is described as 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and muscular with balding dark blond hair, green eyes and a scar under his chin.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300. Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
