Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a man and woman who robbed a Volcano man and stole his pickup truck.

A 32-year-old Volcano man was parked on the side of Huina Road and Kaihenui Place in Kurtistown when a large white Chevrolet pickup truck pulled up behind the victim’s truck shortly after 2 p.m. A woman got out of the Chevrolet and struck up a conversation with the victim, then jumped into the driver’s side of the victim’s truck and threatened him with a knife.

The driver of the Chevrolet then got out of his truck and threatened the victim with a garden tool.

The woman drove away in the victim’s truck while the male suspect returned to his truck and followed.

The stolen truck is described as a1987 beige Toyota single-cab pickup, license plate NGB 002. The front has a black bumper with a winch and “PIAA” lights.

The male suspect is described as large, about 6-foot-3 to 6-foot-4 and possibly Samoan or Tongan. The female suspect is described as possibly Filipino-Portuguese with curly shoulder-length hair.
