A Hilo man has been charged with a felony in connection with a truck that was stolen from a shopping plaza this past weekend.

On Sunday (August 2) , a 2006 Toyota pickup truck was removed from a parking lot on Puainako Street in Hilo.

The truck was located Wednesday (August 5) in the Keaukaha area of Hilo. Investigation led the the identity of the suspect as 42-year-old Alfred Keahilihau of Hilo. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon and taken to the Hilo police cellblock while police continued the investigation.

Thursday afternoon (August 6), Keahilihau was charged with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. His bail was set at $10,000.

He remained at the cellblock until his initial court appearance on Friday (August 7).
