Hawaiʻi Island police have charged a 35-year-old man for Murder in the 2nd Degree, in connection with the discovery of a deceased female found just past midnight on August 14, 2015, fronting a business located off of Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo.

On August 15, 2004 at 4:30 p.m., Curtis Hodges, M-35, of an Illinois address, was charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, bail has been set at $500,000. He is being held at the Hilo Police Station Cellblock pending his court appearance. Hodges may be facing additional charges which are pending forensic laboratory testing.

The victim in this case has been identified through fingerprints, however detectives are still attempting to locate next of kin.
