Hawai‘i Island police have charged 45-year-old Nicholas Taylor, of no permanent address, in connection with an incident that took place at a Volcano area school on Friday morning, January 7, 2022 at 10:25 a.m.

Upon responding to multiples calls involving Taylor’s disorderly behavior at a school in the Volcano area, officers determined that Taylor had walked onto the school campus during the beginning of recess and exposed his buttocks to teachers and students. He fled the area upon being confronted by school staff.

Puna patrol officers located Taylor a short distance away from the school, where he was taken into custody without incident. After conferral with the Prosecutor’s Office, Taylor was charged with disorderly conduct and open lewdness and his bail was set at $1,000.  He remains in custody pending his initial court appearance on Monday, January 10.
