1-25-21 Police Seek Public’s Assistance Identifying Person of Interest in Waikoloa Assault

Hawai‘i Island police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest regarding an assault that occurred at a Waikoloa hotel on Friday, January 22, 2021, at approximately 8:41p.m.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the male victim had his cellular phone damaged and was assaulted by an unidentified male suspect. A photograph was obtained of the person of interest.

Video surveillance captured the incident and the suspect is believed to 35 to 45 years old with a stocky build and tattoos on his legs and chest. At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing an aloha shirt and shorts.
