The runners are participating in the Ragnar relay race, which began on Friday and is scheduled to run until Saturday or until the relay runners complete a 200-mile course.

The route includes Hawaiʻi Belt Road, Kohala Mountain Road, ʻAkoni Pule Highway, Kawaihae Road, Highway 19, Waikoloa Road and Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway.

In addition to runners, motorists should watch out for support vans.
